TSF member's success in the London Marathon

On the 14 April 2014 Johnson Situ ran the the Virgin London Marathon to raise vital funds for TSF. Johnson has been volunteering for TSF since its inception and took this further by putting himself through the arduous 26 miles of running across the stretch of the City.

Twinning can improve pupil development

TSF Chair Michael Situ has called for schools to consider twinning with other school outside of their area particularly internationally. In an article published in national newspaper The Sun amongst others, he articulated the benefits to pupils and school in investing in a twinning relationship. He shared his experience from his recent trip to Nepal where he taught at both primary and secondary levels.

Career Development & Leadership Roadshow

Over the last 3 months TSF has partnered with Uvote to deliver career development & leadership seminars to young people in faith institutions across South London. UVote is a leading organisation working to encourage young people to participate in civic life, in particular voting at elections.

We have visited five churches to date, spoke to over 300 young people and signed-up over 100 young people to receive our regular newsletter. The sessions were led by TSF Chair Michael Situ and Uvote Coordinator Johnson Situ. More sessions are planned for the future. Young people who attended found the sessions to be interactive and engaging.

TSF Chair visits Camelot Primary School

TSF’s Michael Situ visited Camelot Primary School in December 2013 to share with young people his thoughts and experience of schooling in Nepal. In a special assembled audience of over 100 young people, Michael spoke about the challenges students face in developing countries like Nepal and encouraged pupils to work hard and make full use of all the opportunities available here in UK.
